In hs early years, Sir Francis was better known for his exploits as an aviator than a sailor. This page provides details of some of his exploits as a record breaking aviator and provides details of the famous Gypsy Moth aircraft that flew out to meet Sir Francis in the English Channel back in 1967.

This page provides you with all of the details about the incident in the Pacific in 2006 when Gipsy Moth IV struck a coral reef and the subsequent superhuman efforts undertaken in new Zealand to repair the damage and getthe project back on track.
