GMIV Project in Action

Click for a larger imageHawley Primary School has fully integrated Gipsy Moth IV into their Geography Lessons, entitling the Geography Unit as ‘Connecting ourselves to the world’. One of the activities fulfilling the lesson objectives is students watching Gipsy Moth TV clips on the website to stimulate discussions about the Geography of the area as well as thinking of questions they would like to ask the crew and using the ‘e-mail the boat’ facility. An International Educational Community:
As well as the expanding online teachers resources, we have built you an educators online forum to enable you to meet up online and discuss how you are getting the most out of the project.  Initially the schools resources have been publicised to schools within the UK, but with the boat visiting so many different countries from around the world, the momentum behind the project has already started an international educational community the like of which has never been seen before.

At many of the stopover locations around the world, the GMIV crew will be visiting local schools and there will be opportunities for schools to come and visit this famous yacht. In Tenerife for example, the GMIV crew visited the English Educational Centre followed by a visit to the yacht. You can watch the videos from this visit via the links below.
