We really do need everyones help to raise the necessary funds to take young people on a voyage of a lifetime around the world over two years. During the two year voyage, nearly 100 deserving young people will be given the opportunity to experience ocean sailing on this legendary boat, with many more thousands able to follow the voyage and be inspired by the trip via the internet broadcasts. There are a number of ways in which you can directly support the project.
GMIV Supporters Club
The first individual donor to the Gipsy Moth Project was Steven Thomas. All involved with the project were saddened at Stephens fatal accident. Without Stephens initial enthusiasm and substantial donation the project would not be where it is today. We believe that the completion of this project will be a fitting memorial. Since this initial donation a numbe of people have chosen to support the project by making a donation. Every person that makes a donation has their name posted in this page (click here to view the names of existing individual donors) and receives the quarterly project newsletter. Please go to the Donations page to find out how you can make your donation.
GMIV 1000 Club
Some people have kindly chosen to donate £1,000 or more in the form of an individual donation to the project. Each of these generous individual are registered as members of the Gipsy Moth IV 1000 Club (click here to view the names of existing individual donors). Member of the 1000 Club receive a special edition '1000 Club Gipsy Moth IV Tie', the quarterly newsletter, and also receive invitations to the numerous special fundraising events that the project organises. If you would like to join the ranks of the Gipsy Moth IV 1000 Club you can either contact the project directly by calling +44 (0)1983 203017 or go to the Donations page to find out how you can make your donation.
Support a voyage place
For £5,000 you can support a young person taking part in Gipsy Moth IV's Global circumnavigation. In exchange for funding this potentially life changing experience, you or your company will receive coverage in the Gipsy Moth IV newsletter, on the projects website, Yachting Monthly , voyage supporters banner and receive invites to selected Gipsy Moth IV events. You will also receive specific refrence in media coverage relating to the leg the child is participating in and e-mail updates and consolidated video footage direct from the child during the voyage.
Support a voyage leg
Your company would have the opportunity to choose one of the 28 voyage legs to support. For £15,000 you can support three children on one leg of the voyage and in return receive high visibility at PR events and media coverage associated with the respective leg. You will receive
specific reference and short profile in Yachting Monthly magazine as well as your company logo on banners at all events, in the Gipsy Moth IV newsletter, on the website and in the Maritime Heritage Experience in Cowes upon the yacht's return.
