A once in a lifetime opportunity for a day sail to be part of the ‘Suhaili Parade of Sail’. You will be sailing alongside Sir Robin Knox-Johnston on ‘Suhaili’. Other vessels expected are Bernard Moitessier’s ‘Joshua’ and Eric Tabarly’s Pen Duick to name but a few. This should be a truly amazing spectacle and fantastic to be a part of.
Sail from the Gipsy Moth’s home port of Bucklers Hard across the Channel and south to Les Sable D’Olonne in readiness for the start of the 2018 Golden Globe Race on the 1st July. Gipsy Moth will be berthed in the heart of the action amongst the race boats. A great atmosphere and the legendary French hospitality awaits the crew on arrival, then enjoy the atmosphere and stay on board ready for the sail on race start day to be as close to the action as possible.
The Golden Globe Race is being recreated in 2018, 50 years after the original race was won by Robin Knox-Johnston aboard Suhaili. Be on board to watch the start and join in the festivities surrounding this event. Gipsy Moth IV will be berthed in the heart of the race fleet in Les Sable D’Olonne. After the GGR has departed enjoy the celebrations of the 2018 Golden Globe Race start and depar Les Sable D’Olonne the next day for a beautiful sail north along the Brest peninsular and across the channel to arrive through the needles into the Solent.

Be part of the crew on board Gipsy Moth IV for the worlds largest race. Approximately 1700 boats take part in this truly amazing spectacle and race around the Isle of Wight. Join the boat on Friday for some pre-race practice and then get ready for an early race start on Saturday. Enjoy the race and return to Bucklers Hard for celebrations.

Bookings received for sailing trips on board Gipsy Moth IV will be confirmed upon receipt of payment. The Gipsy Moth Trust and its trading subsidiary Gipsy Moth Experience reserves the right to amend or cancel sailing trips based on weather and the decision made by the skipper is final.
Any trips cancelled by the Gipsy Moth Trust or Gipsy Moth experience will be refunded less any bank charges, however, any booking cancelled by yourself will be charged as detailed below
- Cancellations within 40 days of trip date – No refund (unless trip is resold at full original value when any refund will be less bank charges.)
- Cancellation greater than 40 days of trip date – Refund of amount paid less any bank charges and an admin fee of £50
This privacy notice applies to The Gipsy Moth Trust and its trading subsidiary Gipsy Moth Experience Ltd. It explains how we use any personal information that we collect about you.
What information do we collect about you?
We collect information about you when you become a ‘Friend’ of Gipsy Moth or join ‘The Gipsy Moth Family’. This personal information comprises name, address, email address and confirmation that you are/are not a UK taxpayer.
If you have booked a sailing experience on Gipsy Moth IV you will have completed a brief medical questionnaire which provides the same contact information, but also some medical detail and information about your next of kin. This is for your own security when you sail with us, and is also a requirement for insurance cover for GMIV.
How will we use this information about you?
We will use the information we collect to circulate our digital newsletters and inform you of future events.
Who might we share information with? For how long?
We do not share your information with any other organisation for any purpose.
The medical questionnaire completed before sailing with us will be seen by the professional skipper/mate responsible for your wellbeing when on board. These forms are passed to the Trust as soon as your event is completed and the medical/next of kin information provided will not be retained in any format. Should you wish us to retain it for a limited period of 12 months (in case you plan to sail again within this time frame) you will be asked for permission to do so. No medical details will retained for longer than 12 months as it may by then be out of date.
How can I access the information you hold about me?
You have a right to request a copy of the information we hold about you. Please write or email the Trust at the addresses at the top of this notice.
We have an obligation to ensure that your personal information is accurate and up-to-date. Please ask us to up-date (or remove) any details if they are incorrect.

All trips on board Gipsy Moth IV can be booked as individual places or groups (up to the number of passengers shown on the event below), or you can book the entire boat for yourself and your friends or colleagues for a truly memorable day.
You can be involved with the sailing as much or as little as you like and experience the true adrenalin of sailing as it was 50 years ago in what can only be described as one of the world's most famous yachts.
As events tend to book up quite early and spaces are limited we would advise that you book as early as possible.

You can book as an individual, group or have the boat to yourselves.A qualified skipper and mate will be provided - Lunch and wet weather gear is provided if required.
